In November 2014 in response to Research Institute, Tsinghua University (Beijing Institute for short) as well as Tsinghua Sichuan Energy Internet Research Institute (Sichuan Institute for short). Beijing Institute has devoted itself to developing comprehensive advantages of multiple disciplines of Electric, Materials, Thermal Energy, Nuclear Energy, Water Conservancy, Information, Environment, and Architecture in Tsinghua. It is committed to making the THEIRI an important center of talent cultivation, technology innovation, and industrial clustering, and strives to be an influential new generation think tank on strategic decisions of Energy Internet for China and the whole world. At the same time, it has been advancing the academic, technological, and industrial development of Energy Internet, from multiple  aspects and dimensions. For instance, innovative solutions, research and development of keytechnologies and products, commercialization of science and technology achievements, engineering application, investment and incubation of comprehensive energy service enterprises, talent training and consulting, and standard formulation and certification. In April 2015, strongly backed by the National Energy Administration, Energy Internet Research Institute, Tsinghua  University (THEIRI for short) was officially established in Beijing, becoming the first professional Energy Internet research institute in China. THEIRI mainly focuses on the research of energy strategy and policy, innovative planning and design of energy systems, engineering solutions and applications, etc. Meanwhile, with the full backing of Tsinghua University’s  the national call for an "Energy Revolution", and academic research promoting "Internet +" scientific and research forces, such as Electrical Engineering, THEIRI has set up 13 research centers and 4 research labs in succession, covering multi-directional and multi-field academic research and technological development of Energy Internet. In addition, THEIRI has actively promoted the establishment of the China Energy Internet Alliance (CEIA), and served as its secretariat. THEIRI has played an important role in promoting Energy Internet in the relevant national policies, clustering of innovative technology forces, pushing forward industry's development, etc. Since its inception, THEIRI has undertaken considerable national-level research projects on "Internet +"Smart Energy”, participated in the creation of several national policies on technology and industry development of Energy Internet, and successfully gained many new technology achievements in Energy Internet. THEIRI will continue stride forward with great strength on the path of advancing academic prosperity, technological innovation and industrial development for Energy Internet!
