The 2023 China Energy Internet Conference (CEIC), organized by Tsinghua University and the China Energy Internet Industry Alliance (CEIA), was grandly held in Shanghai. The conference, hosted by the China Electric Power Research Institute, State Grid Shanghai Energy Internet Research Institute, and State Grid Shanghai Power Company, was co-organized by the Zhongguancun Energy Internet Industry Technology Alliance, Zhongguancun Intelligent Power Industry Technology Alliance, and Eastone Electronic Corporation. It was a collaborative effort with support from Tsinghua University's Energy Internet Innovation Research Institute, Tsinghua Sichuan Energy Internet Research Institute, and Beijing QingNeng Hulian Technology Co., Ltd. Under the theme of "Addressing the Challenges of Dual Carbon Control and Building a New Energy System," the conference actively addressed new opportunities and challenges in the development of the energy internet. It focused on achieving dual carbon goals, constructing a new power system, and building a new energy system. The conference adopted a format comprising the main summit and eight specialized forums.

Over 700 leaders, experts, and representatives from energy internet-related enterprises, research institutions, financial institutions, industry associations, and news media attended the offline conference, while more than 100,000 viewers engaged with the event through platforms such as Tsinghua University and the China Electric Power Research Institute Journal Center.

In the Energy Internet Best Practices Case Collection event, the Energy Internet of Things (EIoT) projects submitted by the Energy Internet of Things Special Committee stood out in terms of outstanding technology and project capabilities. The "Near Zero Carbon" Demonstration Project by BOE Energy and the Tencent RuiTai MaGang Transparent Factory Project was awarded the "2023 Best Practices Case in Energy Internet" in recognition of their exceptional contributions.

On the afternoon of the 26th, the conference organized eight forums focusing on themes such as energy digitization, industrial innovation and engineering applications, energy IoT, smart hydrogen energy, power carbon neutrality, energy storage applications, green transportation, and energy Internet standardization. Among them, the Energy IoT Forum centered around the theme "Innovative Applications and Future of Energy IoT Under Dual Carbon Goals." The forum was hosted by the CEIA Energy IoT Special Committee, co-organized by BOE Energy Technology Co., Ltd. as the main unit, and LangXin Technology Group Co., Ltd. as the deputy unit. Supporting organizations included Zhongyoda New Energy (Zhejiang) Co., Ltd., China Sensor and IoT Industry Alliance, and Shanghai Energy Conservation Association. The forum attracted nearly 200 participants, including government officials, leaders of well-known domestic and international energy internet industry institutions and enterprises, and representatives from research institutions, for exchange and learning.

During the opening ceremony of the forum, Gao Wensheng, Secretary-General of the China Energy Internet Industry Alliance and Executive Deputy Dean of Tsinghua University's Energy Internet Innovation Research Institute, delivered a speech. He emphasized the crucial importance of innovative applications in the Energy IoT under dual carbon goals. Gao highlighted that continuous progress in technology research and development, policy system improvement, and cross-disciplinary collaboration is essential for the innovative application and future development of Energy IoT. He stressed the need to leverage the power of technology to drive continuous innovation and application in the field of Energy IoT.

Ma Liang, Chairman of BOE Energy Technology Co., Ltd., and Director of the Energy IoT Special Committee, emphasized in his address that the committee is committed not only to advancing technology but also to emphasizing the effectiveness and value of technology in practical applications. The committee strives to create an open and shared ecosystem to collectively address various challenges in the development process. It aims to promote the widespread application and deep integration of energy IoT technology, contributing to the construction of a new energy system and the achievement of the "dual carbon" goals.

During the thematic report session of the forum, Zuo Juan, Deputy Director of the Advanced Energy Technology Center at State Grid Shanghai Energy Internet Research Institute, delivered a presentation on "Construction of Virtual Power Plants in the New Power System." She emphasized that virtual power plants are a crucial component of the new power system and elaborated on the overall solution, main effects, and sources of benefits through practical cases of virtual power plant construction and operation.

Yuan Jun, Head of the Zero Carbon Energy Solution Research Institute at BOE Energy Technology Co., Ltd., presented a report titled "Implementation Path of BOE Zero Carbon Smart Factory." By introducing the zero-carbon implementation path of "decarbonization at the source - process carbon reduction - intelligent carbon management," he outlined BOE Energy's zero-carbon smart factory solution and practical cases, assisting clients in achieving goals related to reducing energy intensity, total energy consumption, operating costs, and carbon emissions.

Yan Yong, Deputy Director of the Energy Blockchain Technology Laboratory at State Grid Zhejiang Electric Power Co., Ltd., spoke on "From Energy Internet to Energy Blockchain." He pointed out that energy blockchain provides solutions to the problems in traditional energy internet and is an inheritance and development of the energy internet. He explained the application of blockchain in the energy industry, common key technologies, and the development path of energy blockchain.

Du Jie, Director of the Business Research Center at LangXin Technology Group Co., Ltd., presented a report titled "Energy Digitalization Assists in Exploring Innovative Applications for Dual Carbon." He emphasized that the realization of "dual carbon" goals requires effective support from energy big data. He analyzed the role and value of energy digitalization in achieving dual carbon goals from the perspectives of government departments, power grid enterprises, industrial parks, enterprises, and the general public.

Gu Limin, Director of Zero Carbon Products and Development at Future Energy Co., Ltd., shared insights in a presentation titled "Future Energy Assisting in the Construction of Green Electricity and Electric Carbon Systems." He highlighted Future Energy's goal of building a zero-carbon industrial park and outlined the construction of an electric carbon system based on regional high-frequency carbon factor calculations.

Zhang Chen, Senior Solution Architect at Tencent Cloud, presented a report titled "City-level Comprehensive Energy Digital Operation Platform." He pointed out that the city-level comprehensive energy digital operation platform is the digital support for joint promotion of regional low-carbon development by the "government-enterprise-operator" tripartite collaboration. He analyzed the business value of the city-level comprehensive energy digital operation platform from the perspectives of enterprises, government, and operators.

Dong Wenjie, Chief Engineer of Dongfang Electronics Co., Ltd., delivered a speech on "Innovation Research and Practice of Digital Virtual Power Plants Under Dual Carbon Goals." He emphasized that virtual power plants are the most market-oriented and crucial path to support the construction of a new power system and the implementation of the national dual carbon strategy. He systematically introduced the implementation path and classic cases of virtual power plant construction and operation.

Zhang Yan, Vice President and CTO of Zhongyaoda New Energy (Zhejiang) Co., Ltd., delivered a speech titled "Enterprise Energy Digital Platform and Refined Energy Management." In his presentation, he introduced the advantages and applications of the integration of enterprise digital energy and refined energy management in business systems, technical systems, digital energy platforms, energy quality diagnosis, and energy-saving in air compressors.

Yang Jincheng from Shanghai University of Electric Power gave a presentation on "Emerging Business Trends Based on Energy IoT Technology under the Dual Carbon Trend." By analyzing business opportunities in the development of energy IoT technology and key issues in the development of emerging businesses in energy IoT, he discussed the scaling-up of emerging businesses. He emphasized using energy industrial internet as a starting point to promote the gradual application of new power (energy) systems and the construction of a new energy industry.

Yu Xiang, Vice President of NaaS Technology, spoke on "Managing Bits for Watts: New Opportunities in the Transformation of Automotive Energy under the Dual Carbon Goals." He elaborated on Nenglian Zhidian's one-stop service covering the entire new energy industry chain, the EMS energy management platform, and infrastructure construction for the Auto Power, emphasizing the contributions made by Nenglian Zhidian in promoting the transformation of automotive new energy and assisting in achieving dual carbon goals.

The successful convening of the China Energy Internet Conference provided a multidisciplinary and cross-industry platform for academic exchange and experience sharing for enterprises, research institutions, industry organizations, and financial institutions in the field of energy internet.
