Wang Yaohua, Deputy Director of State Grid Energy Research Institute, delivered a congratulatory address as a peer think tank representative. He commended the Research Institute's nine-year achievements, emphasizing that developing new energy constitutes the fundamental pathway amidst formidable energy transition challenges. As energy think tanks, he urged proactive provision of strategic counsel for green transformation. Wang highlighted his institute's commitment to building a world-class high-end think tank serving governmental and industrial needs, noting its longstanding productive collaboration with Tsinghua. He expressed aspirations to deepen expert cooperation for collectively advancing the energy sector's new chapter.

Yang Xiu, Deputy Director of Tsinghua University Think Tank Center, congratulated the Institute on its nine years of achievements. She emphasized that think tanks serve as vital forces in modernizing national governance. As Tsinghua’s flagship engineering think tank, the Energy Internet Research Institute has conducted in-depth research addressing China’s energy and power demands, yielding substantial results that strongly support the development of the nation’s modern energy system
Looking ahead, she noted profound changes in global energy governance and new challenges/opportunities for China’s energy landscape. The Think Tank Center will continue supporting the Institute’s growth through comprehensive services, facilitating high-level research and policy consultation to enhance its global impact.

Professor Kang Chongqing, Director of Tsinghua University’s Department of Electrical Engineering and Director of the Energy Internet Research Institute, expressed heartfelt gratitude on behalf of all colleagues to superior authorities, partner institutions, and experts for their longstanding support. He comprehensively reviewed landmark achievements in institutional collaborations since the Institute’s founding, emphasizing future commitments to leverage the integrated "One Department, Two Institutes, One State Key Lab, and One Industry Alliance" framework. This approach will deepen the proven model of driving scientific research and industrial advancement through think tank leadership, actively contribute to China’s 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-2030) for energy and power sectors, pioneer studies on renewable energy and new-type energy systems, and ultimately forge a greener, smarter, and more expansive future for new energy.

Professor Chen Qixin, Vice Dean of the Energy Internet Research Institute ,Tsinghua University, presented the think tank’s progress through three strategic dimensions: deepening expertise in core energy internet domains under Research Focus, enhancing thought leadership via publications and policy impact for Brand Building, and driving cutting-edge programs in energy transition governance through Development Leadership, concluding with forward-looking strategies to advance the think tank’s global positioning.

In response to the national strategy of "Accelerating the Construction of a Nationwide Integrated Computing Network," and to advance the synergistic development of computing power and green energy for establishing a digital cornerstone of Chinese modernization, the Institute inaugurated its "Computing-Power Synergy Research Team" with an unveiling ceremony presided over by Chen Xueyi (Chairman of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Big Data Institute and President of Energy-Computing Integration (Hami) Research Institute), Wang Yu (Chair of Tsinghua University’s Department of Electronic Engineering), Kang Chongqing (Chair of Tsinghua University’s Department of Electrical Engineering), and Su Hang (Research Associate at Tsinghua University’s Department of Computer Science and Technology).

During the keynote session, expert presentations were delivered by: Rao Jianye (Deputy Director of Clean Energy Research Institute, Electric Power Planning & Engineering Institute) on New Energy Base Development and Industrial Integration; Jiang Haifeng (Deputy Manager of Carbon Trading Center, Beijing Green Exchange) on Voluntary Carbon Markets: Status and Prospects; Dr. Meng Yao (Energy Internet Research Institute, Tsinghua University) on Industrial Green Microgrids Empowering High-Quality Development in Petrochemicals, Steel and Computing Industries; Zhang Guosheng (Director of Energy Strategy Institute, PetroChina Exploration & Development Research Institute) on Accelerating China's Energy Super Basin Development: Strategies and Recommendations; Professor Cheng Lin (Dept. of Electrical Engineering, Tsinghua University) on Green Microgrids for Steel Industry: Enabling Green Transition; and Professor Ding Zhaohao (North China Electric Power University) on Data Center Industrial Green Microgrids: Collaborative Optimization Under Dual Carbon Goals

At the end of the forum, the Energy Think Tank Development Salon was held, hosted by Liu Jianming, Chief Scientist of the Institute. Participating experts discussed and exchanged ideas on how to develop new quality productivity in the energy industry and the relationship between green and low-carbon development of energy and new industrialization.

The successful convening of this forum has established a vital exchange platform for energy think tanks and provided strong support for their high-quality development. Looking ahead, the Energy Internet Research Institute, Tsinghua University will collaborate with all stakeholders to deepen cooperation among energy think tanks, jointly contributing wisdom and strength to innovation and sustainable development in the energy sector.
