On July 11, 2024, the inauguration ceremony of the "Computing-Power Coordination Research Team Working Group at Xinjiang University" was successfully held in Room 320 of the Electrical Engineering Building at Xinjiang University. This event marked the first agenda item of the Tsinghua University Department of Electrical Engineering - Xinjiang University School of Electrical Engineering collaboration series, chaired by Professor Yu Xinjie, Party Committee Secretary of Tsinghua EE Department.
The working group's establishment responds to China's national strategy of "accelerating the development of an integrated national computing network," serving the coordinated construction of computing power and green energy to build a digital foundation for Chinese modernization. On April 24, 2024, Tsinghua's EE Department, Electronic Engineering Department, and Computer Science Department jointly established the Computing-Power Coordination Research Team, housed within the Energy Internet Research Institute, Tsinghua University. The Xinjiang University working group will strengthen support for Xinjiang's "Digital Silk Road" development and strategic planning of green computing pilot zones, leveraging academic talent advantages to deepen the targeted support partnership between Tsinghua EE and Xinjiang University's electrical engineering school. This initiative commits to advancing computing-power coordination innovation and providing technological support for green computing development in Xinjiang.

During the event, presentations were delivered by Zhang Dongxiao (Executive President of Ningbo Oriental Institute of Technology and Member of the US National Academy of Engineering) and Lu Haifeng (Deputy Party Secretary and Dean of Xinjiang University's School of Electrical Engineering, concurrently serving as Head of the Computing-Power Coordination Research Team Working Group at Xinjiang University).

The working group will seize this opportunity to collaborate closely with industry, academia, and research partners, contributing dedicated efforts to advance green computing development in Xinjiang and across China.
