The 12th Electric Power Enterprise Management Innovation Experience Exchange Conference" with the theme "Empowering with New Quality Productive Forces, Energizing the Future" was held in Tianjin from September 11 to 13. During the conference, "Outstanding Papers from the 12th Electric Power Enterprise Management Innovation" were released.

The conference was co-hosted by Enterprise Management Journal, Tsinghua University Energy Internet Innovation Research Institute, and the School of Applied Economics at Renmin University of China. Liu Peng, Member of the Party Leadership Group and Vice Chairman of China Enterprise Confederation / China Enterprise Directors Association presided over the morning session on September 12, while Chen Jing, Executive Director and General Manager of Enterprise Management Publishing Co., Ltd. and Publisher of Enterprise Management Journal, chaired the afternoon session. The event drew over 200 attendees.

Zhu Hongren, Party Committee Secretary, Executive Vice President and Secretary-General of China Enterprise Confederation / China Enterprise Directors Association; Xu Kemin, former Chief Economist of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology; Yang Hongyan, President of Tianjin Enterprise Confederation; and Wang Zhiyong, First-Level Inspector of Tianjin State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission, delivered speeches at the conference.

In his address, Zhu Hongren highlighted that the Electric Power Enterprise Management Innovation Paper Competition has been held for twelve consecutive years, significantly contributing to the summarization, exchange, and promotion of management innovation achievements in the power industry. He emphasized that the Management Innovation Experience Exchange Conference has established a platform for communication and mutual learning, substantially advancing management innovation capabilities among power enterprises.

Zhu further proposed guidance on empowering development through new quality productive forces to achieve high-quality growth in the sector, stressing three key imperatives: accurately grasping the strategic direction for developing new quality productive forces to advance high-quality development; precisely comprehending the essential connotation of new quality productive forces to drive high-quality development; and correctly understanding the practical pathways for realizing new quality productive forces to implement high-quality development.

Xu Kemin addressed the conference theme by outlining four expectations for power enterprises: intensifying technological innovation capabilities to foster new momentum for new quality productive forces; accelerating digital-intelligent transformation to build foundational support for new quality productive forces; establishing green industrial ecosystems to shape new structures for new quality productive forces; and strengthening enterprise management innovation to consolidate developmental foundations for new quality productive forces.

Yang Hongyan observed that the power sector demonstrates exceptional enthusiasm, robust organizational mobilization, and prolific achievements in management innovation compared to other industries. Over the years, it has generated numerous highly creative and widely applicable management innovations, significantly elevating participation in such initiatives across Tianjin's enterprises.

Liu Peng affirmed that the 12th Electric Power Enterprise Management Innovation Exchange Conference provides a valuable platform. He urged power enterprises to deepen communication, share best practices, courageously pursue exploration and innovation, accelerate the cultivation of new quality productive forces, and advance comprehensive management innovation for high-quality enterprise development.

Academician Yu Yixin of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Pei Jiansuo (Associate Dean of the School of Applied Economics, Renmin University of China), and Yu Yong (Chief AI Expert of Huawei's Computing Platform Pioneer Team) subsequently delivered keynote speeches. Representatives from the State Grid Corporation of China, China Huadian Corporation, and China Energy Investment Corporation delivered thematic presentations during the conference.

Yu Yixin focused on "the necessity and pathways to building an energy internet centered on smart grids under the 'Dual Carbon' goals." He stressed that fully leveraging flexible loads is the most powerful driving force for smart grids; smart grids embody all the characteristics of the new power system and represent the inevitable direction of grid development; smart grids feature a hierarchical and clustered architecture and a laminar flow communication network; China should currently accelerate the construction of distributed smart grids (smart distribution grids).

Pei Jiansuo proposed ten measures for how the energy sector can promote new quality productive forces: modernizing traditional energy infrastructure, upgrading traditional energy industries, developing traditional energy with low carbonization, digitalizing traditional energy, modernizing traditional energy services, establishing a new mechanism for tackling core technological challenges, leveraging the advantages of the domestic ultra-large-scale market, utilizing China's systemic competitiveness from a complete industrial portfolio, opening up new tracks and fields, and establishing global competition strategies.

Yu Yong stated that in the current era of booming artificial intelligence, AI is beginning to penetrate the core production systems of enterprises, accelerating the intelligent upgrade of industries. He then introduced applications of AI large models in scenarios such as energy supply-demand forecasting and smart microgrids.

The experience-sharing session, chaired by Chen Jing, featured representatives from State Grid Talent Exchange Service Co., Ltd., Huaneng Shantou Haimen Power Generation Co., Ltd., SPIC Asset Management Co., Ltd., and the Bayannur Power Supply Company of Inner Mongolia Power (Group) Co., Ltd. They shared their respective enterprises' management innovation experiences, providing valuable references for power companies undertaking management innovation work, which was well-received by attendees.

The special report by Professor Yang Du from the Renmin University of China Business School, titled "Understanding New Quality Productive Forces, Building World-Class Enterprises," offered both theoretical depth and practical insights, sparking a strong positive response among participants.

The roundtable dialogue, moderated by Gao Feng (Associate Dean of the Tsinghua University Energy Internet Innovation Research Institute), featured guests Pei Jiansuo (Associate Dean, School of Applied Economics, Renmin University of China), Huang Zhen (Senior Director of Power Industry Solutions, Alibaba Cloud), Zhang Yueqiang (Vice President, Yonyou Network Technology Co., Ltd.), and Shi Le (Vice President, Beijing PowerLaw Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd.). They engaged in a discussion on the theme "New Quality Empowerment – Development, Construction, and Application of Business Large Models." The discussion featured novel and fascinating viewpoints, providing important insights for enterprises seeking to understand and apply business large models.

The conference also included visits to the Jinmenhu New Energy Vehicle Charging Station and the Electric Power Dual Carbon Center.
