On the morning of November 14th, the appointment ceremony of Professor Sergio Cavalieri, Rector of the University of Bergamo, Italy, as Distinguished Visiting Professor of Tsinghua University was held at the Department of Electrical Engineering. The ceremony was hosted by Sun Kai, Vice Dean of the Department of Electrical Engineering. More than 20 teachers and students attended the event, including Professor Xiao Xi from the Department of Electrical Engineering and Director of the China-Italy "Belt and Road" Joint Laboratory of Advanced Manufacturing, and Zheng Zedong, Party Secretary of the Department of Electrical Engineering.

Brief Introduction of Sergio Cavalieri
Sergio Cavalieri is a Full Professor and Rector of the University of Bergamo, Italy. His research focus is on innovation in industrial production and operations management, and he also serves as Associate Editor of several international journals. He is the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Italian U4I Foundation. As the main Italian representative, he participated in the construction of the "China-Italy 'Belt and Road' Joint Laboratory of Advanced Manufacturing"; he has organized many bilateral forums and conferences on China-Italy manufacturing relations, and led delegations from the University of Bergamo to visit Tsinghua University and other Chinese universities. He is committed to promoting and strengthening cooperation between China and Italy in talent training and cutting-edge technology R&D, including technology transfer and startup incubation, and has built the most effective and successful cooperation bridge between China and Italy in the fields of advanced manufacturing and intelligent robots.
