Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, power system scientist, professor and deputy director of the Academic Committee of Huazhong University of Science and Technology. Shijie Cheng graduated from Xi'an Jiaotong University in 1967, received his master's and doctoral degrees from Huazhong University of Technology in 1981 and the University of Calgary in 1986 respectively, and was elected as an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2007. He has been engaged in the research of power system and its automation for a long time, and has achieved many research results in power system adaptive control, intelligent control, and sub-synchronous oscillation, etc., which have been used in production practice.
