Project 1: The Key Technology, System and Application of Integrated Energy Management of Multi-energy Flow
The electricity/gas/heat/cooling integrated energy system (IES) is one of the key technology pathways to support the achievement of the dual-carbon goal. In the past, the lack of effective synergy between different energy flows has led to frequent cross-flow chain accidents, limited new energy consumption capacity and comprehensive energy efficiency enhancement, which is a major technical bottleneck restricting the development of IES. Professor Sun Hongbin of the Energy Management and Regulation Research Centre of our institute has led a team for more than ten years to open up a new direction of multi-energy flow energy management, create the theory of energy paths, invent a series of key technologies, and develop the first set of scaled multi-energy flow integrated energy management system (IEMS) at home and abroad, which provides a "smart brain" for the synergistic operation of IES. We have developed the first large-scale multi-energy flow integrated energy management system (IEMS) at home and abroad, providing a "smart brain" for IES co-operation. It has been applied in many smart cities and low-carbon parks, ensuring the green, low-carbon, safe and efficient operation of integrated energy systems. The key technology, system and application of integrated energy management of multi-energy flow wins the first prize of Beijing Technology.

Project 2: The Key Technology and Application of Large-scale New Energy Flexible DC Delivery
Flexible DC can support large-scale new energy long-distance transmission, power bidirectional transmission and flexible control of power, has become a national strategic technology direction. High-voltage DC circuit breaker is the core equipment to build a flexible DC system, but has not been a major breakthrough, and has become a world problem that has plagued the field of electrical engineering for more than a century. Professor Zeng Rong and Associate Professor Yu Zhanqing of DC Research Centre of our institute led the team for more than ten years, ploughing deep into the source of innovation, and achieved a comprehensive breakthrough from the core devices, key technologies to major equipment, and developed the 535kV/25kA DC circuit breaker with the world's highest voltage level and the largest breaking capacity, which was applied to the Zhangbei DC grid project, providing 100% clean energy for the Beijing Winter Olympics, and achieving international leadership in the field of high-voltage DC disconnection technology. It has achieved international leadership in the field of disconnection technology. The key technology and application of large-scale new energy flexible DC transmission won the first prize of Beijing Science and Technology Progress Award.
