News | Professor Goran Strbac Appointed as Our International Think Tank Expert
On June 16, 2023, Professor Goran Strbac of Imperial College London gave a lecture on his research topics at the Department of Electrical Engineering of Tsinghua University. A ceremony was also held where Professor Strbac was presented a letter of appointment as a Distinguished Visiting Professor of Tsinghua University and Expert Member of the International Think Tank of the Energy Internet Research Institute by Professor Kang Chongqing, the Chair of the Department of Electrical Engineering and the Director of the Energy Internet Research Institute of Tsinghua University. More than 60 faculty members and students attended the event, including Assistant Chair Sun Kai, Associate Professor Zhang Ning, Gao Wensheng, Executive Vice Director of the Institute, Dai Jing, Deputy Chair of the Energy Governance Research Center of the Institute, and Gu Yunjie, lecturer of Imperial College London.

Research Results | "The Energy Technology Innovation on the Path towards Carbon Neutrality" Is Published
This is not an exaggeration. In recent years, the adversities brought by climate change have become ever more severe, causing disasters such as forest fires, heat waves, droughts, and crop failures. These disasters have serious consequences for human survival, whilst forcing millions of people around the world to flee their homes and become climate refugees, creating huge challenges for the political, economic, and social systems around the world. If human society continues to ignore and neglect this issue, the number of climate refugees will potentially increase by tens or even hundreds of millions in the next decade.

Press Release | The 14th US-China Green Energy Forum Held In Success
The 14th US-China Green Energy Forum, jointly sponsored by the US-China Green Energy Council, the Chinese Society for Electrical Engineering, the Energy Internet Research Institute of Tsinghua University, and the Precourt Institute for Energy of Stanford University, was held both online and offline from December 2nd to 4th. The Forum was on the theme of "Opportunities and Challenges on the Path to Carbon Neutrality", and featured keynote speeches from Nobel laureates, academicians and researchers from China and abroad. Press Release | IEC Power Electronics Transformer International Standard Working Group Successfully Held their 3rd Meeting
On September 15, a Special Working Group (IEC SC22F/ahG 6) of the Power Electronics Technology for Transmission and Distribution System Subcommittee of the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) held its 3rd meeting. This Special Working Group was designated to work on the standard for the Performance of Power Electronics transformers for Flexible Transmission and Distribution Systems. This standard was initiated by China, and the National Technical Committee for Standardization of Power Electronic Systems and Equipment (SAC/TC 60) was responsible for all relevant operations within China (SAC TC60 SC2 technical support), with Biao Zhao, Associate Professor of the Department of Electrical Engineering at Tsinghua University and Deputy Head of DC Research Center of the Energy Internet Research Institute, acting as the convener.
